Pre-set repeatable lubricant dispense into fractional horse power motor gear boxes.

Problem

Our client’s assembly line personnel were manually filling the gear boxes of its motors.  There was great variability, and ISO certifications were being threatened.

Summary

Our client complained of waste and variability when filling the gear boxes of the many different sized motors it manufactures.  It had tried metered dispense valves, but the resolution was inadequate relative to the small amounts being dispensed.

Solution

STI designed a high resolution, pre-set, repeatable dispense system so that the operator simply inserts a nozzle into the gear box and presses a button.  The exact amount is then dispensed without further user interface.  The “recipe” or amount can be changed to accommodate the different sized gear boxes and the corresponding volume of lubricant required.
